Georgia Attla at a Marketing and Communications Internship

About Me

Welcome to my page! My name is Georgia Attla and I am Koyukon Athabascan from Fairbanks, Alaska. I am a tribal member of the village of Huslia. My maternal family is from Stevens Village and Rampart, both located on the Yukon River, and my paternal family is from Huslia and Hughes, located on the Koyukuk River.

For as long as I can remember I have loved creating art, but I never considered it as a career option for myself. In 2019, I returned to school at the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF). I took a variety of Drawing, Alaskan Native Art Studio, and Printmaking classes that solidified my decision to pursue my passion for art. I graduated with an Associate of Arts degree from UAF in 2022. I transferred to Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado for the Communication Design major.

I believe in a simple, yet effective design philosophy. I am influenced by my Koyukon Athabascan heritage, and the Alaskan lifestyle and land. I enjoy creating logos, poster designs, and booklets in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. I recently graduated from Fort Lewis College with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Design and a Certificate in Digital Marketing. I am now back at home in Alaska and excited to start my design career!
